Today we are going to show you how to set up virtualbox 7.0 to run a virtual machine, this major virtualbox update has done some big changes so we will be showing you the simple process of setting up a virtual machine, if you do not have virtualbox 7.0 installed, click here to download it

You'll need
A computer with virtualbox
An ISO image of Windows, This is a virtual disk file containing all the contents of a Windows installation disk
Step 1.
On the Virtualbox menu click the new button, a popup window should appear

Step 2.
On the drop down box on the select ISO section, click other and browse and select your ISO image, for this guide we will be using Windows 7, if your version of Windows is detected it will install automatically later on although this only works on windows XP or newer. anyway name your virtual machine and click next

Step 3.
If virtualbox has detected your chosen ISO contains an operating system compatible with unattended OS setup, you'll be greeted with this, however if it isn't skip to the next step
here you will set your username, password, host name and enter your product key if you have one, some operating systems wont let you install without a product key so i recommend entering it now to save some trouble, if you don't have one google for some

Step 4.
Select the amount of ram you want to assign to your virtual machine, i recommend leaving this to default if you don't know what your doing but in some cases you'll need to assign more ram, just assign any that's within the green, going in the orange or read can cause issues

Step 5.
Now we will set the storage space of your virtual machine's hard drive, i recommend leaving it at the default if you are unsure what you are doing but if you need more storage select it now as this cannot be changed later without having to reinstall everything, click next then at the summary, confirm everything is correct and click next, if you have set up unattended setup earlier your virtual machine will start automatically, otherwise click the machine and click start

Step 6.
If everything is done correctly you should boot into the installer of your chosen operating system, if you don't and you get something along the lines of "no boot device detected" your ISO image may be corrupt or not an installation disk

Guest additions
Virtualbox guest additions should install automatically once your virtual machine has finished installing, guest additions is software that can give you a bunch of useful features in virtualbox such as shared folders, drag and drop, and the ability to have your virtual machine resolution adjust to the window size.
if this doesn't install automatically click devices>insert guest additions disk image
then on the virtual machine go to my computer and select the disk drive, if it opens a bunch of files click the right executable or just try them all until it works, follow the prompts to install guest additions
